Welcome Friends, Near and Far!

Just Me

Yes, I am back in your face again, but this time I have brought someone else along with me!

Welcome friends!  I’m glad you have come for a visit!  Pull up a seat, get comfy, and stay a while.  Allow me to introduce myself;  My name is Amarissa Amber Cale, but you can just call me Amma… that’s what all my friends call me.

Words to live by!

Words to live by!

So, what’s with the Blog title, “Societal Controversy”,  you ask?  Well, rather than using my main Blogging site for anything but writing, I though it would be great to have another Blog for ‘just stuff’.  Stuff about life and the trying times we live in.  Thoughts about culture, finance, education, love, headline news, or anything else that ‘floats your boat’ on any particular day.

With changing public opinions, we believe it is important, vital even, to never lose sight of the real issues.  Issues that matter to everyone, not just what media tells us we should talk about.  The ‘news’ and ‘media’ are reactionary to breaking news .. we want to discuss the public’s issues and concerns.  Stuff that really matters!  We all have trials, but who is there to speak about them?  Who is listening?  I am, that’s why I’m here ..  for the general public and what the need to discuss.

No current news, no sensationalism.  I will challenge the norm and speak about the things that have or will impact everyone yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  And it’s not that they aren’t current issues, but they are the ongoing that are commonly ignored.

So that is what this Blog is all about ..  hanging out together and having interesting and informative discussions. That’s it –  no ulterior motives, nothing.

I suppose a little about me is in order here, so here it goes …

I was born in Toronto, Canada, where I grew up and now live in Northern Ontario, in a remote little town.  I have lived on either Coast of Canada, and have had the pleasure of savouring both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.  I must say that I did like the smaller-city feel of Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, on the Atlantic Seaboard best.

Live, love, laugh, then love so much more = my motto!

I am a writer/research analyst, specialising in Ancient History.  I have two novels in the works at the moment. One is a trilogy. (When writer’s block halts one, it’s always good to have another to jump into!)

I enjoy making new friends and have a very open opinion on how people should live their lives:

1) They should always be themselves, and accept that others should live their own lives as they see fit.

2) Everyone has rights, opinions, and values .. I respect them all, and hope my friends respect mine as well, even if our opinions differ.

3) Live, love, laugh, then love some more!

4) Smile, and enjoy your life, family and friends .. Life is too unpredictable not to live it as fully as we can.

That’s pretty much the essence of who I am.  I am who I am, I am what I am,  and what you see is what you will always get!

Last, but not least  ..  Live every day for yourself, but don’t forget to share some of yourself with others.  A heart without connection is a lonely place to be!

So welcome, one and all, and I hope you enjoy your stay!

  1. What an awesome idea. Glad someone knows how to do a blog. I have thought about it for a while but mostly for recipes that my kids can have access to. Oh well maybe in another lifetime. This lifetime appears to be too bzy to start anything new. Good luck with this, love the idea and love your “philosophy” for life. It’s very much like mine.

  2. Thnaks, Mamma Deb!
I have always had the same philosophy for living. I have so much I always feel the need to share, though some is far too personal for a Blog. You, of all people, know what I mean. I love life and love to share the wonders that come along with it.

  3. Oh, my friend, I love it. We may learn more about each other yet and actually decide to meet each other in person someday. Take care and good luck with this. If it is anything like your books, I will love it.

    • Thank you, Eva! I appreciate all your support, and you do give it to me so graciously too. I have been working toward getting that book finished, and when I do, you can be sure you will have a personalised copy right away .. Now to get it published, that will be the biggest challenge I have to face.

I would love to have your comments and feedback! All comments will appear as soon as I have reviewed them. Thank you for reading!
